Lightbearers

Oil and Acrylic on canvas (36x48)

Lightbearers is painted from a low-angled perspective, allowing the figures in the foreground to take visual prominence over the much larger church behind them. This artistic choice emphasizes the people, rather than the building, as the true vessels of God’s presence in the world. The figures are crowned with brightly colored halos, drawing the viewer's eye and symbolizing what sets them apart: they have received the Light of God’s Word, and it has transformed them. Now, they GO—carrying that Light into the world. In the background, a tapestry of relationships unfolds—families, couples, and individuals—illustrating that this divine transformation can take place in every walk of life. God makes all His children light in a dark world, no matter their path or season. At the heart of the composition, a grandfather walks hand in hand with his granddaughter as they exit the church. Filled with love and godly wisdom, he tenderly gazes down at her, while she looks ahead with hope for the future and the next generation. Together, these lightbearers embody the sacred passing of the Light from one generation to the next.

Matthew 5:14,16
You are the light of the world …let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
